MARYVILLE, Mo. - After much discussion among the board of directors and with county and city officials, the Maryville Host Lions decided to cancel the Maryville Farmers Market this summer for a number of COVID-19-related reasons.
Committee chairman Sam Mason told KXCV/KRNW that the general refusal of many residents to follow social distancing guidelines and CDC recommendations in public spaces was a factor in the decision.
Mason adds the choice was not made easily and that the market will return in 2021.
